Tracy King is a writer, producer and speaker based in London and Birmingham, UK. 

She is known for her writing and broadcasting on a wealth of subjects including science, politics, technology, culture and medicine. She also writes and produces award-winning animations and has worked as a consultant for major campaigns, TV shows and charities.

Her critically-acclaimed 2024 memoir, Learning To Think, is published by Transworld (Penguin Random House) in the UK, Liveright (WW Norton) in the USA, and by (in translation by Alma Littera) in Lithuania.

She is the co-author of The Cost of Trust (Harper Collins, 2025), which tells the true story of campaigner Deborah Douglas and one of the biggest scandals in medicine.

Her graphic novel Storm with Tim Minchin and DC Turner was published in the UK and Australia by Orion in 2014 and by Alibri (in translation by Dirk Huelstrunk) in Germany.

Tracy wrote a monthly print column about videogame culture in Custom PC magazine for fifteen years, and has written for media including The Times, New Statesman, Guardian, Stylist, the Telegraph, and The New European. Her media appearances include BBC Radio 4, BBC Sounds podcasts, BBC Radio WM, 5Live, LBC Radio, National Geographic Channel, Good Morning Britain, and Newsnight.​​

 

She has also written, produced, and consulted for science organisations including Imperial College, the Grantham Institute, EUMETSAT, and the Royal Institution’s BBC Christmas Lectures, 

 

Tracy's animation credits include the legendary viral animation Tim Minchin's Storm, the award-winning music video WHY? for Canadian rock legend Devin Townsend, It's Not Rocket Science with astronaut Chris Hadfield, and various science communication films with organisations such as Nature.

She has spoken at science, culture and books events worldwide including New Scientist Live, the Cheltenham Literature Festival, Guernsey Literature Festival, Dragon*Con Atlanta, The Amazing Meeting Las Vegas, Edinburgh Fringe, Bristol Animated Encounters, Manchester International Festival, and Bath Festival.

Tracy is currently producing the forthcoming feature documentary Michael Rosen: You Can't Go Over It, You Can't Go Under It (Small Hive Productions).
